9 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Depart USA

Depart from Newark Airport on an overnight flight. Enjoy dinner served aboard overnight flight.

 

Day 2: Prague

Arrival in Prague airport where you will be met by your Professional Tour Guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. You may want to catch the exciting spirit of new Prague by walking the Old Town area. Dinner and overnight in Prague. (D)

 

Day 3: Prague

Morning sightseeing tour of Prague illus­trating its thousand‑year history including Old Town Square, the medieval Charles Bridge, and a walk through St. Vitus Cathedral and the Prague Castle area. Afternoon at leisure with time to explore the magnificent Golden City on your own. Dinner at a typical restaurant and overnight in Prague. (B,D)

 

Day 4: Prague / Bratislava

Morning departure from Prague. En route visit "Vcelnicka, " the glass factory where you might want to shop for Czech glass and crystal products. Continue to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Check in at the Danube Hotel. Dinner and overnight in Bratislava. (B,D)

 

Day 5: Bratislava / Modra / Piestany

Sightseeing tour of Bratislava including the massive Bratislava Castle which dominates the landscape above the Danube River, Old Town, Saint Michael's Tower ‑ once a gate into the walled medieval city, and the Gothic Cathedral of St. Martin. Drive through the Carpathian Mountains to Modra village, notable for its wines, crafts, and ceramics. Visit Cerveny Kamen Castle, with its collec­tion of Renaissance and Baroque furniture, fine decorations and historical weapons. In the afternoon, tour the spa resort of Piestany, famous for its mineral waters and mud for treatment of rheumatism. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Bratislava. (B,D)

 

Day 6: Bratislava / Vienna

Morning departure for Vienna, the former capital of the Austrian‑Hungarian Empire and the present capital of Austria. Sightseeing tour of the imperial city palace Schoenbrunn and the impressive Hofburg. Explore the bustling shopping district and marvel at St. Stephen's Cathedral located in the center of the district. Dinner and overnight in Vienna. (B,D)

 

Day 7: Vienna / Budapest

Morning departure for Budapest, the spirit­ed capital of Hungary. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city, often called the "Paris of the East." Dinner and overnight in Budapest. (B,D)

 

Day 8: Budapest

Sightseeing tour of Budapest includes the older section. Buda, located on the right bank of the Danube where Royal Castle, the Cathedral of St. Matthew, and Fisherman's Bastion can be found. Also tour the mostly 19th century Pest, situated on the left bank of the Danube and visit the neo‑Gothic Parliament, Hero’s Square, and the Church of St. Stephen. Dine in a typical Hungarian restaurant. Overnight in Budapest. (B,D)

 

Day 9: Budapest / USA

We depart for the Airport for our return flights. Arrive home the same day. (B)
